Firehouse concert was a bust…

Over the past couple of hot days in the pool, NPH and I have met some of our neighbors — a ‘young-ish’ couple with a 12 year old who actually seemed to have some things in common with us.  Rare indeed.

So, after talking a bit with them at the pool, they extended an invitation for us to join them for a Firehouse concert.  NPH and I jumped on the chance to see an older band for cheap cover — mostly for the people watching experience and to go out with people kind of close to our age.

So, we arrived at the club and patiently stood outside waiting to meet the neighbors.  After all, we didn’t want to go in yet because we were supposed to sit with them in the VIP section since the guy knew the owner of the club, etc.

30 minutes pass and we phone them to see what the story is.  They replied they were running late but that they would be there shortly.  Fine — we stayed outside — it was a beautiful night — we looked hot in our clubwear (lol) — and so we stood around outside and amused ourselves.

After an hour, NPH started to feel queasy — he’s been suffering with a stomach virus for a couple of days — and it was about to resurface.  You know when your mouth fills with saliva and you just know you’re going to hurl??  Well, he was holding it back and concentrating really hard —

An hour +15 passes and the we can hear the warm-up band from outside the club.  NPH’s feeling worse and worse, so we decide to call the neighbors up and tell them we’re going to bail because NPH is going to lose his cookies.  Besides — where the fuck are they??  Dang!

So, we get home — and there’s a note stuck in the door.  NPH runs to the bathroom and does his thing while I read the note.  Turns out, the neighbors had a huge fight and they bailed on us!

Funny.

It was fun getting all dolled up — even if it was for nothing — but here I am home and online and just hanging out.  We might order a PPV.

Just think it’s interesting — I guess it wasn’t in the plan for us to see Firehouse.  I’m definitely not crushed. : )
